Research Grand Rounds Presents: “Toward A Precision Approach to Gestational Diabetes”
Sponsor: MHRI and GHUCCTS
Time: 12 - 1:00 PM
Location: Live Stream Only
Speaker(s): Camille E. Powe, MD.
Camille Powe is Assistant Professor Medicine at Harvard and co-directs the Diabetes in Pregnancy program at Massachusetts General Hospital. A board-certified endocrinologist, trained at Harvard, Brigham and Women’s, and Mass General, her discipline-spanning research is supported by awards from the NIDDK and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Her research has included important contributions focused on vitamin D, kidney disease, preeclampsia, epidemiology and health disparities but has its major current focus on glycemic regulation during pregnancy and in women with gestational diabetes. Dr. Powe has identified mechanistically-distinct dysglycemic phenotypes and genotype-associations in women with GDM, leading to improved understanding of glucose regulation across pregnancy with important implications for improving diagnosis, therapy, and clinical outcomes.
