GHUCCTS Research Grand Rounds

Research Grand Rounds Presents:  “Addressing Misdiagnosis of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) in Women: A Systems Engineering Approach “

Sponsor: MHRI and GHUCCTS
Time: 12 - 1:00 PM
Location: Live Stream Only
Speaker(s):  Kristen E Miller, DrPH

Dr. Kristen Miller serves as Scientific Director of the MedStar Health National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare, Associate Professor at Georgetown, and Adjunct in Biomedical Engineering at Catholic University.  Dr. Miller is a clinically oriented human factors researcher, whose NIH, AHRQ, NSF, ONCHIT, and FDA supported research focuses on medical decision making, informatics, and the assessment of medical interventions.  She will share her team’s systems engineering approach, in their active AHRQ-funded project, to improve the accurate, timely, and effectively-communicated diagnosis of CVD in women in order to develop innovative solutions to address the persisting healthcare inequity due to sex and gender differences in CVD diagnosis in ambulatory care.

Research Grand Rounds are sponsored by the Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science (GHUCCTS) and MedStar Health Research Institute to bring together our diverse clinical and research communities to share research that spans disciplines and stages of translation to improve individual and community health.
