This month's Research Grand Rounds features Dr. Karumanchi, who is a Professor of Medicine and Medallion Chair in Vascular Biology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Karumanchi will discuss “Mechanisms and targeted therapies for preeclampsia.”
Dr. Karumanchi is a Professor of Medicine and Medallion Chair in Vascular Biology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
His basic, translational, and clinical research, which has been supported by the NIH (NHLBI, NIDDK, NCI), AHA, HHMI, and Gates Foundation among others, focuses on pathogenic mechanisms and the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to hypertensive disorders in pregnancy and chronic renal disease.
His talk will focus on the role of endothelial growth factors in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia and understanding the implications of these mechanisms for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of preeclampsia and related hypertensive disorders.
